Who can apply for ePROTECT travel insurance?
  • Singaporean
  • Permanent Resident of Singapore
  • Foreigner with valid Work Pass
  • Foreigner with valid Student Pass
  • Foreigner with valid Dependant’s Pass
  • Foreigner with valid Long-term Visit Pass
What are the types of plan available?
  • Trip type: Single or Annual Multi-Trip (recommended for frequent travellers)
  • Plan type: Individual, Family or Group
  • Benefit type: Inflight, Basic, Economy or Business

Inflight is not available for Annual Multi-Trip or Group application.

What is a Single Trip Policy?

A Single Trip Policy covers the entire return trip (not exceeding 182 consecutive days) from the time during the Period of Insurance when the Insured Person leaves his/her home or workplace in Singapore, for the sole purpose of commencing a trip abroad, to 6 hours after the Insured Person arrives back in Singapore or on the expiry date of the Period of Insurance shown in the Schedule, whichever is sooner.

What is an Annual Multi-Trip Policy?

An Annual Multi-Trip Policy covers you for all trips taken during the Period of Insurance. You can make unlimited number of trips during the Period of Insurance, provided each trip does not exceed 90 consecutive days from the departure date.

What is a Family Plan?

A Family travel insurance plan comprises a minimum of 1 adult travelling with 1 child, and up to a maximum of 2 adults travelling with up to 8 children.

For Single Trip Policy
The 2 adults need not be related but the child(ren) must be the Legal Child(ren) of either of the insured adults. All must depart from and return to Singapore together at the same time.

For Annual Multi-Trip Policy
The Insured, which will comprise You, Your Legal Spouse and up to 8 of Your Legal Children can travel on separate trips during the Period of Insurance. The child(ren) need not be accompanied by either of the parents.

*Note that 2 adults are unable to purchase a Family Plan. Instead they can consider getting the Group Plan if they are taking the same trip together or purchase 2 separate Individual Plans.

What is a Group Plan?
  • A travel insurance Policy issued to you in respect of the Insured Persons named in the Schedule who are travelling as a group, with a maximum of 10 insured persons. If you have more than 10 insured persons, we will recommend for you to apply for 2 (or more) Group Plans (as required) (E.g. 18 insured persons will require 2 Group Plans).
  • The Insured Persons under the Group Plan must travel together on a Trip.
  • Group Plan is only available for Single Trip.
If I already have a comprehensive plan, do I still need to apply for Inflight benefit?

All our comprehensive plans (Basic/Economy/Business) include coverage for your inflight journey and travel delay, thus it is not required for you to apply for the inflight benefit if you already have a comprehensive plan with us.

What is the meaning of “Child”?

“Child” means the Adult applicant’s legal child who is unmarried and unemployed, and is at least 3 months old and below 18 years old or up to 25 years of age if studying full-time in a recognised tertiary institution.

How do I select the Travel Region if I am travelling to more than one country?

If you are travelling to more than one country, please select the furthest destination from Singapore.

Can a foreigner buy ePROTECT travel insurance?

Yes, a foreigner residing in Singapore and holding on to a valid Work Pass, Student Pass, Dependant’s Pass or Long-term Visit Pass is eligible to buy our travel insurance. Please note that this insurance will only cover for a round trip commencing and returning to Singapore within the Period of Insurance.

Can I apply for ePROTECT travel insurance if I am above 70 years old?

If you are 70 years old and above, you are welcome to apply given that there are reduced travel insurance benefits for Personal Accident, Medical Expenses Incurred Overseas and in Singapore, and Act of Terrorism Cover.

Are there any exclusions under ePROTECT travel insurance?

Yes, there are exclusions such as pre-existing illnesses, hazardous occupations or those who participate in professional high-risk sports.

We also do not cover the following countries: Afghanistan, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan and Syria.

Can I change my commencement date?

Yes, you can change the commencement date but only if you notify us prior to the commencement of your trip or Period of Insurance, whichever is sooner. Please contact our friendly Customer Care consultants.

Can I extend the period of cover if I decide to extend my trip whilst overseas?

If I decide not to proceed with my trip, can I recover the premium paid for my policy?

For Single Trip Policy
We will grant a full refund of the premium as long as the amount to be refunded is at least $20 and no claim has been submitted prior to the cancellation of this Policy. There will be no refund for cancellation after the Period of Insurance has commenced.

For Annual Multi-Trip Policy
We will grant a pro rata refund of the premium paid corresponding to the unexpired Period of Insurance as long as the amount to be refunded is at least $20 and no claim has been submitted prior to the cancellation of this Policy:

How can I get emergency travel assistance when I am overseas?

As a policyholder, you are entitled to the following free travel assistance services provided by Allianz Global Assistance . To access the service, simply dial the Emergency Services Hotline at +65 6327 2215 and quote your Policy Number. Consultation is free. Other third-party costs and expenses are covered under this Policy subject to the terms and conditions provided in the Policy Wording.

What is the latest date to submit my claim upon my return from my trip?
