What is HDB Fire Insurance Scheme from Etiqa Insurance?

The HDB Fire Insurance Scheme was introduced to help relieve flat owners of the financial burden of repair work in the unfortunate event of a fire.

The HDB Fire Insurance covers the cost of reinstating damaged internal structures, fixtures, as well as areas built and provided by HDB. It excludes home contents such as furniture, renovations and personal belongings.

Etiqa Insurance is the current appointed insurer for the HDB Fire Insurance Scheme and the insurance is valid for a 5-year period; renewal is done once every 5 years.

1. Building structures, fixtures & fittings provided by HDB and/or its approved developer.
2. Renovation and home contents including personal effects, physical loss or damage due to theft accompanied by violent or forcible entry into your home. X

Who can buy HDB Fire Insurance from Etiqa Insurance?

You can buy our HDB Fire Insurance if:

  • You are the Flat owner or Family members of the dwelling.
  • You meet Etiqa Insurance’s eligibility criteria;
When do I need to buy for HDB Fire Insurance from Etiqa Insurance?

It is compulsory for flat owners with an HDB mortgage loan to buy HDB Fire Insurance.

For New and Resales Flat owners:

Prior to your key collection date or otherwise advised by HDB.

For Renewal Flat owners:

When you received your renewal notice from HDB.

There are a few avenues for your to buy your HDB Fire Insurance: Below are the options:

1) The easiest way to buy HDB Fire Insurance from us is online.
You can purchase or renew your HDB fire insurance by visiting our website here.
Information required: HDB scheme account no / reference no or your unit or Unit no or Postal Code

2) HDB Hub Counter:
HDB Hub, Counters 01 & 02, Sales Office, Atrium 1st storey, 480 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, Singapore 310480
Information required: a copy of the Key Collection Notice or Renewal Notice sent by HDB for verification.

3) Etiqa Customer Care:
You could also walk-into our Customer Care office at 16 Raffles Quay, Hong Leong Building, #01-04A, Singapore 048581 where our friendly customer care personnel will assists you or call Customer Care on +65 6887 8777.

4) AXS Kiosk
Please follow the following flow:
Payment => Bills => Insurance => Etiqa Insurance => Fire Insurance
Information required: a copy of the Renewal Notice sent by HDB for barcode scanning.
