What is Free Term Life Insurance?
  • This is a no-cost insurance plan that pays out S$25,000 if the life insured dies during the term of the policy.
  • The life insured is either the new parent or the newlywed.
  • The policy lasts for 12 months.
  • Application must be made online via www.etiqa.com.sg
Who can apply for Free Term Life Insurance?

New parents and newlyweds who are Singapore citizens or Singapore permanent residents between 21 and 45 years old (age next birthday).

    • New Parents
      • You can apply for this plan for yourself if you’re a new parent of a baby under a year old.
      • Both parents can apply for the free term life insurance and applications must be made separately online via www.etiqa.com.sg
      • This plan does not cover the life of the newborn.
    • Newlyweds
      • You can apply for this plan within six months from the date of your registration of marriage.
      • Both husband and wife can apply for the free term life insurance and applications must be made separately online at www.etiqa.com.sg
What type of claims do the policy exclude?

The policy will not pay any benefits if the death is a result of:

    • Suicide;
    • Alcohol or drug abuse;
    • HIV related illness; or
    • Pre-existing health conditions.
When will my coverage start?

Your coverage will start only after you have completed the online application form and we have confirmed your plan’s start date. We will email you about your plan’s date of commencement.

When will my coverage end?

Your coverage will end when any one of these events happens:

    • When we pay S$25,000 in benefits;
    • When you stop living in Singapore for a consecutive 180 days or longer;
    • Upon discovery that you provided inaccurate information or declarations on the application form;
    • At the end of the 12- month coverage period;
    • Change of nationality status.
If I am just married and have a baby at the same time, can I apply for the Free Term Life Insurance twice?

No. The maximum coverage per life insured is S$25,000.

What happens to my Free Term Life Insurance if my child or spouse dies?

Your cover will continue until it expires at the end of 12 months.

What happens to my Free Term Life Insurance if I divorce?

Your cover will continue until it expires at the end of 12 months.

What happens to my Free Term Life Insurance if I stop residing in Singapore?

Your cover will be terminated when you stop living in Singapore for a consecutive 180 days or longer.

Can I transfer the ownership of my Free Term Life Insurance to someone else?

No.

How do I make a claim?

Please submit your claim to Etiqa Insurance Pte. Ltd. within three months of the event giving rise to the claim. At your expense, you must give us all documents and evidence we ask for to assess the claim.

Who will receive the claim benefit?

The benefit will be paid to either your executors, administrators, nominees or any other proper claimant if we have the proof of the relationship of the person claiming the benefit.

What should I do if I want to cancel my Free Term Life Insurance?
