Jetstar Asia Operations Cessation – Important Notice for Travel Insurance Policyholders

Following Jetstar Asia’s cessation of operations, Etiqa Insurance Singapore is extending goodwill benefits to eligible customers who purchased our travel insurance plans (Travel Infinite or Tiq Travel) before 8:00 AM on 11 June 2025 and have been affected by the airline’s disruptions. 

For flights affected on or before 31 July 2025:

If you are travelling on or before 31 July 2025, your insurance policy remains the same, and you may submit claims for Travel Delay if your original flight schedule is delayed or diverted.

For flights affected after 31 July 2025:

Goodwill benefits apply only to travels affected after 31 July 2025.

You can claim for non-refundable pre-booked accommodation, local transportation (excluding Jetstar flight costs), and travel activities. Kindly refer to the following table for more information.

Air Fare Reimbursement You are proceeding with your original travel plan and had to book alternative flight(s) due to all of the following reasons:
  1. There is no alternative flight offered by Jetstar and you have to purchase your new tickets from another flight carrier;
  2. There are no changes to your original travel dates and trip duration for your new flight, and
  3. Your outbound/inbound flight ticket is after 31 July 2025.
We will pay the fare difference between your affected Jetstar Asia flight AND your newly booked flight, provided the new fare is higher. Up to $200 per insured
Non-Refundable Expenses Reimbursement You cancel your trip due to any of the following reasons:
  1. You are unable to find alternative flight(s) to accommodate your original travel dates, or
  2. You found alternative flight(s) but it require itinerary changes, or
  3. You have connecting flights or onward travel arrangements that cannot be adjusted to accommodate alternative flight schedules, or
  4. Time-sensitive bookings (such as cruise departures, tour group schedules, or event tickets) cannot be rescheduled to match available alternative flights.
  1. We will pay for local transport, accommodation, activities (including tour tickets, concert tickets etc.) and other expenses that you have pre-paid or have agreed to pay under a contract before 11 June 2025 which you cannot recover.
  2. You must first ask for a refund of any prepaid expenses from the transport, accommodation or service provider.
Up to $1,000 per insured

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re eligible for the goodwill benefits if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • Purchased a Tiq Travel or Travel Infinite Insurance policy on or before 8:00 am on 11 June 2025
  • Purchased a Jetstar Asia flight booking on or before 8:00 am on 11 June 2025
  • Received an email notification from Jetstar that your booking is impacted
  • Your travel date must be after 31 July 2025

While you are not eligible for goodwill benefits as your flight is on/before 31 July 2025, your Tiq Travel Insurance policy coverage still applies. You can submit the relevant claims for your travel plans and other insured events within 30 days of the incident via our online portal here.

Upon your verification when you submit a claim, verify your eligibility and identify which benefit you should claim under.

For Air Fare Reimbursement:

  • Invoice/receipts of your original Jetstar booking
  • Refund statement from Jetstar
  • Invoice/receipts of alternative air ticket purchased
  • Boarding pass for alternative air ticket
  • Additional proof if upgrading flight class (to maintain same travel dates)


For Non-Refundable Expenses Reimbursement:

  • Invoice/receipts of your original Jetstar booking
  • Refund statement from Jetstar
  • All prepaid booking receipts/invoices for accommodation, activities, tours before 11 June 2025
  • Statement from service providers confirming no refund/partial refund available

The following expenses are NOT covered:

  • Jetstar flight ticket costs (these should be full refunded from Jetstar)
  • Accommodation or other expenses if your travel period remains unchanged
  • Claims for flights scheduled on/before 31 July 2025
  • Expenses that can be refunded by the original service providers
  • Upgrades or changes made for personal preference rather than necessity

I expressly authorise and consent to Etiqa, its officers and employees at their sole discretion, to disclose any and all information relating to me, including my personal particulars, my transactions and dealings and my policies of insurance with Etiqa, to any of the following persons, whether in Singapore or elsewhere:

  1. Etiqa’s related corporations or affiliates;
  2. Any of Etiqa’s contractors or third party service providers;
  3. Any regulatory, supervisory or other authority, court of law, tribunal or person, in any jurisdiction, where such disclosure is required by law, regulation, judgement or order of court or order of any tribunal or as a matter of practice;
  4. Any actual or potential assignee(s) or transferee(s) of any rights and obligations of Etiqa under or relating to my policy or policies for any purpose connected with the proposed assignment or transfer; and
  5. Any credit bureau, insurer or representative, for such purpose(s) that Etiqa in its reasonable opinion considers appropriate including but not limited to the purpose(s) of underwriting, customer servicing, investigation of Etiqa’s representatives and monitoring undesirable sales practices.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. The Insured, also known as the Applicant / Proposer, must be a Singapore citizen, Permanent Resident of Singapore or foreigner with a valid Work Pass, Student Pass, Dependant’s Pass or Long-Term Visit Pass.
  2. The Applicant/Proposer must be at least 18 years of age.
